Prime Minister Netanyahu stated the other day on BBC Persian that:
“If the people of Iran were free they could wear blue jeans, listen to Western music and have free elections,”.
What Prime Minister Netanyahu was thinking about when he was saying these things about Iran was most probably the former USSR.
And now his comments have started a campaign in Iran where young people are posting pictures of themselves in jeans as a message of defiance against Netanyahu.
Having young Iranians up in arms and posting pictures of themselves in jeans to ridicule Israel’s Prime Minister could be interpreted as terrible news.
Young Iranians should be uniting against the regime, not against Israel’s prime minister, however small scale this latest campaign may be.
But wait a minute, people teasing Benjamin Netanyahu and thinking that he is wrong? Well well well, Israelis and Iranians have even more in common than originally thought.
