On Monday, the (unofficial) embassy of #Iran in #Israel will open

Mark your calendars: this Monday 21st of December, 7:30 PM in Jerusalem, the (unofficial) embassy of Iran will be opened by a group of Israeli activists.

One of their major goals is to:

“show different aspects (of Iran) than those the media has been feeding us,” according to the group’s Facebook page…Matan Pinkas, one of the organizers of the project, said the project aims to “leave the conflict at the level of the leaders and not between the peoples.”

The project’s founders even took to Jerusalem’s Zion square, to promote their project, armed with the official flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

I am not part of this project, but it seems to me that the visit by Iranian filmmaker Mohsen Makhmalbaf to Israel in 2013 provided a major push, energy and incentive to Israelis who want friendship and peace between the people of Iran and Israel.

For more details in English, Persian and Hebrew about the opening of this new initiative and the people behind it (including their contact details), visit their facebook page here. I wish them the best. They deserve much credit.

Lets hope and pray that real embassies are established in the capitals of both countries soon.  Amen.
